ENERGY STAR Program Management
On January 1, 2011, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rolled out the new ENERGY STAR program requiring all new submissions to be reviewed by an EPA-recognized Certification Body in addition to qualification testing being performed by an EPA-recognized Testing Laboratory. TÜV SÜD is both a recognized Testing Laboratory for the ENERGY STAR program and a recognized Certification Body for the ENERGY STAR program. First-party testing laboratories are allowed under TÜV SÜD's CB supervision through our Acceptance of Client Testing (ACT) program.
TÜV SÜD is an EPA CB for the following categories: Audio/Video, Battery Chargers, CFLs, Certified Lighting Subcomponents, Commercial Refrigerators/Freezers, Computers, Decorative Light Strings, Displays, Imaging Equipment, Integral LED Lamps, Luminaires, Refrigerators & Freezers, Residential Light Fixtures, Servers, Set-Top Boxes, Solid-State Lighting, Telephony, Televisions.
